  1. I was looking up an edition of Tucker’s Lincoln Hunters I was offered and realised it was a book club edition with cover art by Cecil Bacon. There wasn’t an image on ISFDB so I started checking out his other covers – to discover that for almost 20 years (from 1954 or so) his covers had been virtually identical, except for th colour used!

His obituary (linked from ISFDB) reveals that he was a much in demand artist & illustrator in the UK for decades and his distinctive SF Bookclub covers probably a minor sideline!

Anyway, no real point to this post, it just seemed interesting to me.
